Hardwood may dominate design magazines, but carpet is quietly holding strong — especially here in Lynnwood. While open floor plans and minimalist styles are on trend, Northwest homeowners still value comfort, and carpet delivers in ways other flooring simply can’t.
At NW Floor Coverings, we’re helping clients rediscover the beauty and benefits of carpet in today’s homes.
Carpet for the Pacific Northwest Climate
Lynnwood’s cool, damp seasons make carpet an ideal choice for creating warm, inviting spaces. From traditional plush carpets to textured loops and patterned designs, carpet helps take the chill out of the air and provides a comfortable retreat during rainy fall afternoons and gray winter mornings.
Carpet’s Sound-Reducing Superpower
In open-concept homes or multi-level townhouses around Bothell and Edmonds, carpet serves an important purpose beyond aesthetics — noise reduction. Installing carpet in bedrooms, hallways, or on stairs can significantly reduce sound transmission, creating a quieter, more peaceful home environment.
New Carpet Trends Lynnwood Homeowners Love
Today’s carpet is designed with both style and practicality in mind:
-
Stain-resistant and pet-friendly fibers make life easier for busy families.
-
Sustainable options made from recycled materials are growing in popularity among eco-conscious Lynnwood homeowners.
-
Subtle patterns and textures are replacing flat neutrals, adding depth to minimalist spaces.
Many homeowners in areas like Mukilteo and Shoreline are pairing neutral carpets with bold, modern decor for a fresh look.
Layering Rugs Over Carpet
A fun trend we’ve seen in Lynnwood homes is layering area rugs over carpet. By adding a contrasting rug on top of wall-to-wall carpet, homeowners can define spaces within larger rooms and create extra texture and visual interest.
Carpet & Wood: A Perfect Pairing
We often recommend combining carpet and hardwood for a versatile design approach. Many Lynnwood families opt for hardwood in the main living spaces while using carpet in private areas to create a sense of retreat and comfort.
NW Floor Coverings offers a wide range of carpet styles that coordinate perfectly with our wood flooring collections, ensuring a cohesive look throughout your home.
